Engineering Professor receives prestigious international appointments
Energy expert Professor Xudong Zhao has received several prestigious appointments to international academic and technological organisations.
Professor Zhao, from the University of Hull’s School of Engineering, has research expertise in sustainable and renewable energy, energy efficiency and building services technologies.
The appointments will help to support the growth and funding of the energy research team at the University of Hull.
The appointments are:
- The executive board member of World Society of Sustainable Energy Technologies (WSSET). WSSET consolidates partnerships between academic and industrial organisations, and promotes sustainable development and technologies worldwide.
- The executive management board member for the International Conference of Sustainable Energy Technologies Series (SET). SET international conference on sustainable energy sources and technologies.
- Steering committee member of European District Heating and Cooling Technology Platform, which provides a European level framework aimed at stimulating research and innovation for district heating and cooling.
- The guest lead editor of International Journal of Photoenergy, responsible for development of a special issue titled ‘Solar Photovoltaic/ Thermal Research’.
In addition to Professor Zhao’s new appointments, he also serves as the editorial board member of a number of internationally renowned journals including:
‘Future Cities and Environment’, ‘Journal of Energy and Power Engineering’, ‘Frontiers in Built Environment and Mechanical Engineering’, ‘Heat Exchangers’, ‘Sustainable Cities and Society’, ‘Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning’ and ‘Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering’.
